ARTICLE UPDATE, APRIL 2022:
In the current financial climate we know money may be tight. There are two ways we can help support you whilst still giving your pet a much needed hit of freshness:

Mix it up!
The beauty of our meals means they can be mixed with dry and wet food. Your four legged friend might not be getting a 100% fresh diet, but they will be getting a necessary hit of fresh nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Plus their poops won't be as different as a full switch back to dry or wet food. But be careful not to overfeed your dog - for each meatball you take out, add 2 tablespoons of dry or wet food out of the bowl. If you feed our minces, for every 50g you take out, add 3 tablespoons of dry or wet food

The POWER BALL Swap
If you are a dog owner and currently feed our minces, swap to our Power Balls and follow the instructions above

We know there may be a number of reasons you want to cancel your subscription. You can manage your subscription - pause, cancel or amend - via your Poppy's Picnic account page. Pausing is a great way to take a break from subscription deliveries, e.g. if you are going away, without forgetting to reinstate it later.

But maybe you don't need to cancel if your dog or cat is not eating the food. Here are some tips which might help:

  1. If you are new to raw or have a fussy pet, introduce our food gradually. Reduce their current meal over several days, allowing for the additional fresh food. Our fresh food is nutritionally superior so less is needed.

  2. Match the protein they were eating before switching and stick to it for three days - if they were eating chicken, then start with a chicken variety - then introduce other varieties.

  3. Your pet might not like the temperature of refrigerated food (they've been used to it coming out of a packet). Cats will almost always walk away from food that is not room temperature. Take it out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before feeding, or add a little hot water under the pack to warm it all.

  4. Adding a small amount of mackerel or sardine in oil is a great way to tantalise the taste buds. DOGS ONLY: Add a small amount of melted goats butter or a little grated cheese

  5. If you have our MIGHTY MINCE or POWER BALLS, you can brown the meat to bring out the natural caramelisation. These recipes contain no bone making these foods safe to cook. We've replaced the bone with eggshell, a natural sources of calcium, ensuring they are fully balanced and complete. You don't need to use oil, just a little water to stop it from sticking. As they get used to eating it, reduce the cook time until they are eating raw again.
