Pancreatitis means ‘inflammation of the pancreas’ and a pet diagnosed with pancreatitis is suffering from an inflamed pancreas which prevents it from functioning properly. Signs of pancreatitis include diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain. Your vet will conduct an enzyme blood test to see if there is any elevation.

Pancreatitis is normally seen in middle-aged pets that have been fed a diet of highly processed foods.

Feeding a fresh natural raw diet can be beneficial when treating pancreatitis. Raw, uncooked foods contain an abundance of live, active enzymes which help the digestion process, reducing stress on the pancreas.

Pancreatitis pets should be fed a low fat diet to help alleviate stress on the pancreas. All of our chicken recipes are low in fat. You should always consult your vet before choosing a suitable diet for dogs with medical conditions
